Hat Trick for Minx!
We are absolutely thrilled to have recieved three awards at the 2019 Learning Environments Australiasia. Closing out a fantastic year for Minx, three of our projects were recognised in the Victorian Chapter awards at Craft and Co last week.
St Dominics Primary School STEAM Centre was awarded WINNER of the category for Buildings Under $2 million. This little project was a true collaboration with our client. The simple building enables the school to deliver Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths activities and the adjacent kitchen garden developed by the school provides the cooking teaching space with fresh produce.
St Mary MacKillop Primary School in Bannockburn was a challenging project for us. How do you turn a State Government Primary School into a new Catholic Primary School? Our solution was to demolish the toilet block that was slap bang in the middle of the central area of the school and re- landscape extensively. At the same time we were able to create a new street frontage for
the school. This project was awarded the WINNER in the Landscape and Outdoor Learning Environments category.
Mount St Joseph Girls' College have been working with Minx since 2014 to deliver four of the six stages of their Master Plan. The recent upgrade of the Giovanni Learning Centre and Administration Wing was awarded a commendation in the Modernisation over $5 million category. We are thrilled with the results of our recent efforts in recycling their buidlings.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the hardworking people involved in the delivery of each of these projects. Architecture is a truly collaborative enterprise!
